Alain: If cyou wasn't gonna stick up for me, you coulda at least left some of the cherry ones.
Nik: Hell, man, I get laid more when you're in the doghouse. 'Sides, you deserved it. Cette fille etait detraque (that girl was crazy).
Alain: She ain't crazy! She's had some shit to deal with lately, is all.
Nik: Big tits and a sob story's all it takes for you, ain't it?
Alain: They do not need big --
Murdoch: Enough. Alain, these numbers from Johannan ain't addin' up. Swing round this morning and figure out who's rippin' us off.
Alain: Okay.
Murdoch: Nik, get a couple people over on the line with Lafayette --
Nik: Uh-huh. There a reason I can't just shoot the little prick?
Murdoch: Get over there, I said, an' be seen. He don't make trouble, we don't make trouble, but he wants watchin'. See if we can't make the rest of today a little quieter --
Julia: I want a word with you!
Murdoch: Ah. Gonna be that kind of day.
Alain: For the record, she ain't one of mine.

When last we saw... Alain - Nik - Murdoch - Julia

Today's comic lateness brought to you by the miracle of modern medicine. Which is to say, I got prescribed painkillers, and took some on the theory that they would help, and -- being inexperienced in the ways of painkillers -- did not correctly translate 'may cause drowsiness' to 'will cause you to sleep like a log, then get up in the morning insanely hyper, cheerful, and basically buzzed off your head for six hours until you are suddenly beset by the feeling that someone has turned a ceiling fan on inside your head and you have to go quietly pass out in a corner until it's turned off again.'

In medicine's defense, I don't think this is how most people react to 50mg of tramadol.

Anyway, it turns out that it's really hard to make comics in this state, too, so. Late. Friday's comic will probably be late too: if it's on time but gibberish, you'll know I had another try at the happy pills....

Beautiful piano, bittersweet lyrics, and a voice so pure as to be almost painful. If you can't catch her in concert, do yourself a favor and get the CD.
