Well, I was right about the cold, and the brakes went out on our other car as soon as the first came back from the shop*, but otherwise things are looking up. My grandfather is out of the hospital and recovering, albeit slowly; the holidays were survived and even enjoyed; the new year is coming, and I'm... braced? Yes, that sounds about right. I am facing 2017 with, if not hope, at least a reasonable amount of dignity.

Yay.

Focus on the positive! We still have more of the Spiderforest Comics of the Week. First up, Supervillainous!

Bad lair design contractors, meddling heros, and of course the never-ending stupidity of henchmen... it's hard work being a supervillian. Especially one who's also a single dad! A superhero send-up that's snarky, fun, and loveable.

Next, we have the fabulous Retroblade!

In the year 3007 a reality crash has wiped everything out. The last known survivor, Axel Kepler is working his way backwards through time, trying to figure out where it all went wrong.

With a severely out of touch Database, a Transmutation Device for food (that if anything, makes molecules less edible than they were before) and only a cryptic Blueprint left by his sister to guide him, he needs help....

He needs a Team.

Together, they will find out how to fix things, who the good guys really are... and why people from the future have such cheesy haircuts.

* No kats were harmed in the making of this discovery. The second 'car' is a Dodge Caravan well past drinking age (it particularly enjoys a nice nightcap of transmission fluid) and as such is restricted to doddering around the 20-mile radius between home, work, and town. Doddering around a curve to discover that my brakes weren't was certainly more excitement than I'd been looking for in the afternoon, but the actual danger was thankfully limited.
